Let's keep D.C.
and our healthcare
workers well fed.
Life in the D.C. area has been upended by the coronavirus, and the people most affected are those in the restaurant
and healthcare industries. This site was created as a means
to help both. Through the generosity of many, we hope to provide business to valued local restaurants while feeding healthcare providers working tirelessly on behalf of our community.
How it works.
STEP 1: Click on the hospital you would like to donate meals to.
STEP 2: Follow the instructions on the specific hospital page.
STEP 3: Pick a restaurant from the provided list, call and order the meals.
Current participating hospitals
A note to D.C. Area Restaurants:
The DC site went live on 4/1. Our goal is to ensure that the food being delivered to hospitals has been safely prepared and delivered. If you have a restaurant that would like to participate, please email firstname.lastname@example.org
(serving Sibley and Howard hospitals) or email@example.com (serving Adventist HealthCare Shady Grove Medical Center).
A note to D.C. Hospitals:
If your staff would like to receive meals from The Meal Bridge, DC hospitals should reach out to firstname.lastname@example.org, and Maryland hospitals should reach out to email@example.com .Once we receive approval from the hospital, we will work with local restaurants in your area to provide meals as soon as we can.
A bit about The Meal Bridge
In response to the coronavirus pandemic, The Meal Bridge was started
by an Atlanta family to help people working in the restaurant and healthcare fields. Fortunately, the idea has been well received beyond Atlanta.
We are honored to welcome the D.C. Metro Area as the next location to join the effort.
